The Cold Blaster: Fresh & Spicy Juice to Reduce or Eliminate a Cold

March 15, 2015

Now that I'm a mom I don't have time in my busy schedule to get a cold. So when I was feeling one trying to make an appearance, I quickly shot it down with this special green juice.

Ingredients
  • 2 granny smith apples
  • 2 peeled lemons
  • 1 heck of a large piece of ginger
  • 2 bunches of parsley
  • 3 - 4 radishes
  • 1 medium or 1/2 of a large carrot
Directions

Juice the above ingredients and drink right away. Drink at the first sign of cold. If you wait too long to treat a cold it may get worse so pay attention and remember to treat your symptoms early. For an extra boost of protection stir in the contents from 1 capsule of probiotic to each cup of juice.  Makes 2 servings.

What's so special about these ingredients?

Lemons are a citrus fruit high in vitamin C but low in sugar. Radishes help clear the sinus and can soothe a sore throat. Ginger is not only antiviral but it is also anti-inflammatory which helps to reduce the swelling associated with sinusitis. Parsley is high in vitamin K and also great for the immune system. The antioxidants and phytochemicals contained in carrots benefit the immune system. Green apples are low in sugar but high in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.

All of these healthy and medicinal ingredients create one heck of a great tasting cup of medicine. Enjoy!
